not famous enough zhang ziyi's name is on yahoo's list of "most popular actors" since her beach photos leaked online but she didn't make it to the top 10 most searched. whenever i hear blacks/whites talk about chinese actors/actresses, i hear bruce lee, jackie chan, jet li, chow yun fat, lucy liu and gong li's name in the conversation the most. i think part of the reason why zhang ziyi is less mentioned than those other chinese/chinese american stars is because she has never been romanticly paired to an american actor on screen or off. the front page on american gossip mags are usually either reserved for hollywood "power couples", where both are famous stars in hollywood or american celebrities who earn 20 million dollar or more per film, sport super stars, supermodels, important politicians or best selling muscians. vivi nevo is relatively unknown before he started dating zhang ziyi and zhang ziyi's salary is less than that of many supporting actors/actresses in hollywood, so it isn't that surprising for me that she didn't receive much coverage on her beach pictures.

personally, i thought the photos were gona be a alot worse, pretty typical of celebrities in the west, guess chinese are still pretty conserved so she has alot more to answer for in the east! Though if shes focussing her career in america, she doesnt really have much to worry about.
