probably not the rmvb file problem... right now im having faulty problems with converting one of my file to avi at this moment.. can't convert the stupid Lady Iron Chef movie to AVI.. everytime it gets to 51% it does not respond... sigh... somethings fishy thats where brown bear comes in lolz jp
if u cant find another source for the movie u might need another pgm 2 bypass the 'dodgy' rmvb file. some of the series files will play, skip some frames. the convertors stop when there are enuf bad frames. use a pgm that allows u to split or join files and start the pgm where winAvi ends.. ie 32 minute and 10 seconds past.
Dawn... You can also try to use SUPER with the CCCP codecs....Google SUPER and try that....freeware program that does conversions, so it might help you...... Worse case, you give me the file and I'll convert it.....I refuse to believe WinAVI with CCCP won't work....
Are you using a demo version? Latest WinAVI is version 8. It's been working for me so far and I'm running Vista which is known to be fussy with software.
thx for the help guys... imma try to find another file n convert it again... i'm using WinAvi 8.0... it's not a demo... it's prolly just dodgy rmvb >.<
i sometimes have the same problem, dawn. here's what I do: i use winavi to convert rmvb to rmvb, then convert the newly converted rmvb to avi. i use k-lite codec and to convert to avi I use allok converter. unless you have tried it already, but that works for me.
>.< now i'm having problem... sigh... lolz >.< stupid winavi.. converting animes... the codec is all weird >.< tried mixed with cccp and kinda work lolz omfg.. cccp does not have real media decoder???
this is so strange, i've never had a problem using winavi in converting rmvb files. though i don't regularly use it. i have winavi 8.0 and it works fine for me.
lol lately i've been having problems converting animes with it... but im done now... so i reinstalled storm codec for rmvb converting.. cccp is mainly made for anime...
ye i don't watch anime so i don't know what those files are like. but im glad that u've fixed ur problem.
A rehashed winavi 8.0 labelled as ver 9.0 is floating around torrents. www.winavi.com is stating ver 8.0 is the latest. Maybe I'll try it later to see the difference.
no need torrent... i posted 9.0 on my thread already... but its probably a beta... i think.. but its working good.. don't have any problems with it
okay! dawn or original poster i have been converting my RMVB downloads into DVD or MPEG 1 or 2 without any problems... if you have aim or msn pm me your addy's and i can help you directly thru there....instead of posting like this DO NOT use WINAVI 9.0 because on www.winavi.com says only 8.0 is latest... i am using 8.0 right now and it works PERFECTLY! you want to use the latest codec package as well i used klite codec or something...dont have the full name with me right now but like i said...if u still need help...post...
ermm i don't think dawn will be willing to give u her msn. gd luck with getting that esp since u have so few posts and im pretty sure so prob has it handled otherwise she would post again.
