you can mail order them from online sites the only problem is getting somebody to do the soldering for you...i got it from an online vendor for 40 bucks and convinced my friend to do it for me

got too distracted with the WIi forgot about the antivirus things...You should try the free ones too liek avg or kasperkey they are decent free ones and better than macafee. Norton is only good if you shell out some doe to get their full version one

i get wii games from bittorrent
just download, burn on dvd and play.
    but some games dont work
nintendo put some thing in their new games that know if you have a wiikey or not, so you have to update the chip or something

    buy from asia!
its cheaper than buying a dvd disc! lol

    assuming 1/10 works... it's still a bargain!
    =)

haha, u talking about blank discs there or copied games? i dunno, this doesn't bother me i don't have a chipped wii. not going to get one anyway, too dangerous for my liking and i just buy a few gd games and that does me fine. don't even play that much tbh.

was referring to the fake/pirate/copies/bakup copies of hte wii games in asia
the price u pay for it, its about the same price as a blank dvd

    my wii is stil unchipped
will chip it soon, but given im not home >.< ah wells...
lucky i still have the first batch too! means i can use wiikey and not the d2ckey =)

i just bought a wii zapper! should buy another one soon =D
ahhh the joys of buying the real stuff and not replicas =)

the d2ckey was released as an alternative to the wiikey. i don't really believe that their is really any difference in them and both of them seem to be getting constant upgrades so they are compatible with the newer nintendo games.

@jihey u only have to worry about the wiikey modding from windows games because most 3rd party developers didn't really bother checking for the file

wii zapper is just the casing/shell to hold the remote and nunchuck together to form/act like a gun

the zapper is the one released from nintendo, u can get aftermarket ones
hafn't tried them out yet, so dunno which is "better"
but i still like the idea of having the originals =)

    d2ckey vs wiikey

    no they are not alternatives

if u look at ur wii (based on the serial number), u can tell which "batch" of wii it came from
the earlier editions of wii, the chipset/board is different to the newer generation

given all the "hacks" there are, nintendo changed the whole board so the "hack" didn't work no more

if u have the earlier editions of the wii (can't remember the serial numbers)
then the wiikey is the one to use, as u only need 6 solder points

the new batches need to use the d2ckey, which has 30 solder points

    thats pretty much the difference
there are alternatives to wiikey (cheaper ones)
and similarly, there are alternatives to the d2ckey

oh yea nintendo were giving out some sort of casing for the wiimote a while back. dunno whether they still are but didn't want one cos i don't rele like a case for it, it makes it feel strange.

i never knew there were alternatives to the orginal ones but ii guess the original ones, the wiikey and the d2ckey will be the most reliable ones and will constantly have updates. woah, 30 solder points, u certainly have to be skilled to put that one in.
