i notice that too... this year the winter games korea won so many gold medals in speed skating ...beating out u.s and canada(the favs) maybe cause they small or something -lol
Short track is one of their country's fav winter sports. Just like how Canada has curling/hockey and China with figure skating. So their fan base is larger and more ppl would try it out. Giving them a greater chance of putting out these olympic medal machines.
cuz speed skating involves strategy speed and endurance. they have a good strategy and alot of endurance is my bet.
there's one difference in short track and long track.. it's the length of straight away there is...Short track is typically more circular...meaning you neee dto change directions more...more cross overs... Agility is the key to short track. being able to consecutively do quick cross overs. And considering the body structures of koreans.. they are more geared to sports that change fast quickly.
One thing to say: It's Canada that rocks at speed skating!! Go Cindy Klassen! Ya, representin' WINNIPEG!
don't get me wrong, but short strong legs are good for passing others during the turns, especially in short tracks!
