    I prefer mandarin, it's easier to understand and it just sounds softer.

    Mmmm i agree that mandarin songs sound nicer than canto, prob cos there are less vowels in mandarin making the songs more fluent etc., i never sing canto songs when i do karaoke with my friends cos it's just too much effort for me although i speak it at home lol!

    The artist singing it depends, but then when you listen to it in mandarin, everything seems to sound as if it all flows nicely and better than a contonese version.

    yea, even though i understand more cantonese, i tend to find mandarin songs more easy on the ears.

    I prefer to listen to mando songs ^^;; i guess because they have a nice flow to it..even though i don't understand it;;
    Some canto songs are nice, tho.
    it really depends on whos singing and the music ><;;

    well it depends on the song. You can and NEVER will have "the Swordsman" sung in mandarin, b/c it'd sound like garbage, or Wong Fei Hung in Cantonese. See? yeah...

    well end of the day, depends on personal preference
    the meaning of the song, lyrics all make quite a big difference

    but the more n more i'm listening, i'm prefering mandarin
    guess its just the way the accents are pronounced
    tho it does def depend on the singer...

    I think it depends on the mood. If your in a lousy mood then you won't be concentrating and like what you hear.

    Cantonese since I can understand it and it's more familiar to me. Mandarin is just a different language to me that isn't familair though I can understand some. So yeah. I just like Cantonese more.

    i speak cantonese but still i can't understand the songs. So I have no preference. I guess the voice and the beat matters more.
