Too many nod32 whores here, as long as your not actively seeking viruses any of the freeware ones will do

  2. yeah its a XP2600+ but its pimped out and tbh its more than enough to run a anti-virus program.
the constant scans causes noticeable slowdown, yes its good to a degree but unnecessary.
turning it off defeats the purpose of getting the program making NOD32 the better choice.
RAM is not an issue with me (remember my pc is pimped out)

    :D

    i use:

    NOD32
    Weebroot Spysweeper
    Weebroot Desktop Firewall

Hmm.. Looks like NOD 32 takes majority. I'll have to give it a try now.

What makes the fact that everyone in HK is using it significant? Is the maker based in HK? More viruses in HK?

no av...then what instead? I'm not a security specialist or anything, so I've just used av since I started using computers. :D

I've been PC piosoned. Macs give me headaches now. -lol

I think I trust Norton more than any other virus softwares...

  5. before I was curious about other AVs... but after seeing McAfee's Billboard ad I'm sold!

    their slogan:

well i guess i will stick to norton sym this yr
dunno know about the slowing down of pc coz my pc is already 5yrs old

  10. norton is crap i think, as with most things, the big names tend to be just that, big name little quality.

try the Nod32 trial, 5yr old pc is fine.

    Nod32 is very good

Norton uses too much space and too much memory. WIll slow down your cpu's processing speed. I recommend using Nod32 and AVG's antivirus programs.

    Norton: around $50-70
    Nod32:around $25-30

not to mention, to renew Norton, is also expensive. Nod32 has been nominated and won first place for best antivirus programs

  13. hahah yea.. the whole board was red with white bold letters.. hahah they got some balls for making that billboard for reals..

disable Javascript helps a lot. I dislike sites that uses Javacript.

I use f-prot, never caught a virus yet; I do goto a lot of porn and warez sites-sweat....so disable java seems to stop a lot trojans from getting in.

I've been using McAfee Scurity Centre with no problems whatsoever.
