Whats a good Program for amateur

I am looking to do a photo collage, and was wondering whats a good photo - border editing program to get those fades around the border....photoshop seem too complicated to do that.


any good sites to grab some cool backgrounds/wallpaper as well? its for a love/romance collage...need some graphics to decorate the page

 

Have you tried GIMP? It's a free program that you can easily find by running a google search.
