i was wondering if this is cooler HTML: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181017&Tpk=corsairs%20h100 is compatible with a AM3+ CPU
My old Corsair H50 had the brackets and everything for the AM2 and AM3 CPUs. I'm sure the newer one would have AM3+ .
Yes it is compatible. It's huge though, make sure you have a case that can support it. I have the Corsair H50 on my Phenom X6 and it keeps it cooler than Sean Connery in a room full of naked women.
Mounting the radiator shouldn't be too bad. It's only a 240. Height wise, it'll take up about 6 drive bays. If you can't fit it in the front, you have the option of mounting it on the roof or floor of the case. You're gonna have to drill a few holes and space em a bit from the case but it's something even a novice can do. Here's a pic for size reference. The H100 radiator will be as tall as 2 of these fans combined.
It's a Thermaltake Armor full tower. Each one of the white things on the right side represents 1 drive bay.
I'm not sure why everyone is going for closed-loop liquid coolers. This http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018 does just a good a job while being cheaper and quieter.
That thing is a beast. Personally I went with a closed loop liquid cooler just because it was the most cost effective way to keep my CPU at low temperature... Also it looks a bit more low profile than a massive tower of fins and fans.
