Saturday, March 11th, 2006 Taiwan Leehom has given the past 11 years of his life to his music. He sees his family barely once a year for a few days in America and missed many important family events, he sacrifices his freedom, and he sacrificed his first love for music. Leehom still hasn’t found another girl who could replace the spot of Ms.Bai. However, last night his hard work came together flawlessly in his Taipei concert. This year has been a hard one for Leehom, one of his closest friends passed away and his grandmother who is his only close relative in Taiwan suffered a stroke. Leehom doesnt' reveal much of his emotions, however after holding his emotions in for 11 years Leehom finally released it. Many of his songs express the helplessness he feels and of broken hearts and love. However before Leehom performed “第一個清晨” he said to his fans. “I’ve done a lot of traveling and saying good bye to all my loved ones. However despite all that, I still haven’t given up on love, and you guys have to promise me that you guys will never give up on love either.” Fans that have been with Leehom through rumor and hardships were so touched that they broke down into tears. While he performed “第一個清晨” his voice became shaky as he tried to hold in tears. Later he performed “Kiss Goodbye” and while he was singing the line “付出的愛收不回還欠你的我不能給 (I can’t take back the love I give, I can’t give you the love I owe)”, his eyes rimmed with tears. He wrote the lyrics to the song and it seemed as if he was singing it for all his family members and his exgirlfriend whom he couldn't give love to. Fans couldn’t help from crying with Leehom. Leehom had given all to his music and he still was willing to give more. However apart from the sad moments, there were other moments that were happier. Leehom started off the show with a tall flags routine and performed kung Fu moves. He also had a hot dance with a female dancer which included a "imaginary" kiss. Leehom known to be shy, tried his best to keep a straight face while performing. During rehearsal he had started cracking up because of the awkwardness of the moment. He also performed 6 of the 18 or so instruments he is proficient in. Guests Westlife came to perform “You raise me up” with Leehom and they pulled off a heartwarming performance. After performing for over 3 hours, Leehom was still able to pull off each note clearly. He also performed James Blunt’s “Your beautiful.” Last night’s performance was breathtaking; we will see what other surprised Leehom has for tonight. Tonight’s guest is Mayday.
