Comparing the salaries of the HK and US stars there are a huge gap. It is no wonder that most of them are involved in singing, hosting shows, doing commercial and other things besides acting to earn more money.
They hired Michelle Yeoh, Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi for Memoirs of a Geisha because (the producers) said hiring an American Asian actress like Lucy Liu or Kelly Hu would burst their budget. Lucy Liu gets about $5-$8 million per picture. Kelly Hu probably gets $1-$2 million per movie. I'm curious how much the cast of Memoirs received for their roles!! Anyone heard anything about it?

Charmaine should get better pay also after getting the favourite actress award? I think she deserves it.
You don't need to...look at William Hung...-lol I'm sure she will get a salary rise now that TVB have been highly promoting her and now after she won the two award at this year anniversary award show.
I know, americans get paid wayyyy more for doing movies, like Lindsay Lohan gets paid 3 million for one movie
from what i heard HK actor/actress only sleep 3-5 hrs a day while filming TVB series.. and getting paid the little.... ouch
gigi is a good actress but i do think jessica's name should be up there because all of her series have always been good and better than kenix
gigi's raise and award seemed to be a part of her contract she signed right after WAB...i think after liza..charmaine and myolie are the next to recieve more money than kenix after the contracts ends...they are better actresses!!
