After only eight months on his job as Deputy General Manager for TVB's programming unit, it was revealed that the company has now promoted Eric Tsang to be the new General Manager of Content Operations. The announcement, which was made by TVB on 27 September, revealed that Eric will be having overall responsibilities of TVB's content operations including creating new content, producing dramas, music, and acquiring new programmes, The Standard reported. In an interview with Mingpao, Eric was all smiles when asked about his promotion, saying that all the credits should go to his colleagues around him for their good work. Aside from continuing to recruit new talents, Eric said that he hopes for more young people to join the TV industry. "Television has entered a new era. Young people have many new ideas and TVB as the largest broadcaster in Hong Kong needs more young people to create content," he said. Although admitted to feel the pressure of the responsibilities, Eric stated that he will continue to work hard to provide entertainment for the audience.
