Rumours are rife that TVB is planning to postpone its annual anniversary awards due to the ongoing protests around Hong Kong.
As reported on Mingpao, sources claimed that the awards ceremony, which was originally scheduled to be held on 15 December, will be delayed to January 2020 - making it the second time that TVB has postponed the said annual event.
However, there is no news as to whether it will be pre-recorded as well, similar to what the broadcaster had done for its anniversary gala earlier.
Aside from the supposed postponement, it was also alleged that another annual event; the Tung Wah Charity Gala will also be changing its name in response to the current sociopolitical situation in the city.
When asked about it, a TVB rep responded that the company will announce the dates of all events as soon as everything is confirmed.
