PLEASE DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE THIS ANYWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
i worked too darn hard on this, to have random people take this.

haha the simplest way to make gifs, no need for any extra programs or whatnot.

first off you need three basics things, Photoshop & Imageready (so anything below CS3, should work), and a Video/video site.

sites like veoh and youtube make life so much easier ( you don't have to stress on finding the right video or worry about wasting major memory space)

    Tips :
    - If you're going to make it for soompi, reduce your layers to like 15-17 for best results.

step one. make sure you have the clip you want

for this experience, im going to use a hyun bin clip, of course.

    im going from 1:55 - 1:58

    step two.
play, and pause, quickly. and on your keyboard click on the print screen button and then hit crtl + c for copy

and then in ps open a new doc and hit ctrl + v in it

you should get something like this :

    step three.
continue to play and pause, until you finish the whole time sequence,
DON'T continue to open a new doc each time, just keep continue ctrl + v -ing to the step 2 doc

i ended up with 13 layers

    step four.
    take the crop tool

and crop the video box only.

you should get something like this, with all 13 layers in it.

    step.five
    now hit ctrl+ alt + i

and change the width/height to something suitable, i chose 100 for the width.

    step six.
now go to file>> new>> and open a new 100 px by 100 px canvas

and go back to the previous canvas and hold down the shift button and click on the first layer and then the last layer

drag all the layers to the new 100 by 100 canvas

(dont you just love the crop tool ?)

    step se7en.
after you start making it pretty and what not.

heres something you can do to reduce the layer size

    go to

    >> layer >>> flatten image
then i select the the video box area and right click and inverse selection (make sure you get everything ouside the video box) that i made & ctrl + c and then go
atl+crtl+z until i get back to my original layer

and then ctrl+p and delete all the decoration layers

so instead of like 20 something layers, you end up with the magic 15

    after that, you click on

to transfer it to image ready

    step eight.

make sure you have the animation and optimize tools up, to do so go to windows -- and go to animation.

    step nine.

hide all the video layers but the first one (basically get rid of all the eyeballs for the video layers, but the first one)

    step ten.

then in the animation box, alternate between the duplicate frame button
and making visible each of the invisible layers.

    step eleven.

adjust the time for the layers by holding on the sec button, and change the time you want, usually .1-.2 seconds works, and having the last frame at like 1 sec is really good.

then go down to file -- save optimized as .. and save

and the final result after adding some final touches :

if its still too big, cause you want to follow the soompi regulations, use the optimize tool and lower the color number, until you get the right size
