Ever since Raymond entered the showbiz, he is known for his wealthy family background. We (from East Week) have found out that Raymond’s father, Lam Wah Kok owns many residential and commercial properties including acquired lands, which amounts to approximately HKD2 Billion. Lam Wah Kok is one of the property developers in Xiamen, always been known as ‘Xiamen Li Ka Shing’. Lam Wah Kok and the Shaw family (Mr and Mrs Shaw - owner of TVB) are prominent citizens of Xiamen. Asked about his family business, Raymond said : [I'm the eldest in the family, I will have to bear this responsibility, one day, I will return to help in my family business]. However, the rich master still misses the showbiz, looks like Lam Pa-Pa (father) has to wait for a little while more. Text Translation: Raymond Lam’s grandfather, Lam Mung Fei graduated from the military school and he was then an inspector general. Besides that, he also served in the Xiamen Finance Ministry Department and later chosen to be the Hokkien’s provincial vice president in the government’s department. Hence, he was considered to be an influential political figure at that time. As for Raymond’s father Lam Wah Kok, upon graduating from high school, he was actively involved in Xiamen’s music and dance association. He was always the sole performer in the musicals performance which focuses mainly on political reforms. Although he possessed great performing talents, he decided to venture into the business arena based on the family’s political influence and relationship. Lam Wah Kok is on real-estate investor, property developer, construction and management and building materials supplier, mainly in Mainland China. In Xiamen alone, he is involved in projects development for luxurious residential and commercial properties. Apart from properties, Lam’s corporation acquired lands, estimated asset value to-date amounting to HKD 20billion. Lam Wah Kok holds a permanent position as the chairman of the Hong Kong-Xiamen Federal Association, sitting alongside him is Albert Yeung. Raymond Lam is heavily promoted in EEG and last week, he held 2 successful sessions of a grand concert. Pictures Illustration : Left column shows some of the properties owned by Raymond’s father. He studied Architecture in Southern California University so as to prepare himself in inheriting his father’s business. However, after he and his father had a casual meal with TVB Executive Mr Chan at that time, he decided to give up on his studies to join the showbiz. His father could only allow him to give it a try. Raymond was supposed to return to his family business when he reaches the age of 30. Raymond: [My family has seen that my career path in the showbiz has been a smooth-sailing one, and they know that I take my job seriously. There was once, father came to visit me when I was filming in Mainland China, he saw that I was so exhausted that I could even sleep, leaning against the wall. Even though it has been tough for me, he knew that I was happy. Since then, he has not mentioned about the time limit anymore. They understand that once you are in any specific industry/job, things are always beyond our control, especially in the entertainment industry]. Preparing to Inherit Father’s Business Text illustration [I remember father saying to me "Before you learn of doing anything, it is always important to learn about humanity," whether being in the business world or the entertainment circle]. Raymond said that one day, he will still have to return to inherit his father’s business. Nevertheless, since I’m involved in the entertainment industry now, I would take this as a learning platform for me to gain more experience in preparation for business in future. He said : [The sooner I am out in the society, the sooner I would grow in every area of my life. In any industry, you need to develop good interpersonal relationships]. Even though he is residing in a luxurious condominium with a built-up area of 2000 over sq feet, driving a Benz, a present which was given by his father many years ago, however, Raymond said : [Actually, I have been financially independent all these years, I believe the only way to prove my capabilities and strength is through my earnings. This year, I am planning to invest in properties]. Property investment is his father’s forte, Raymond would also like to follow his father’s footstep to make his first earning from the returns of his investment in properties. Rich bastard!!! I used to like him, but seeing how he got plastic surgery and all that.... tsk tsk tsk
i never knew raymond lam got plastic surgery... sources please? I want to see myself haha. Anyway, it is a known fact that Raymond Lam came from a rich family, just how rich was the mystery. I think Raymond will be missed when he decides to leave the entertainment industry and take over the family business. I just hope he does so before his fathers deathbed...
I didn't know he had PS too, plz show us your source cause he looked pretty much the same from many years ago in one tvb serie.
I'm pretty sure this article is pretty recent. The page numberings are consecutive (52/53/54), plus the picture on the cover of the article is from his recent concert, featuring his semi transparent blouse and the "wet" look. He also dyed his hair golden for the concert. Enough evidence to prove it is not from one of his old dramas yet?
well, his nose..... can you see how it is straight and high now? back then it wasn't ...!!! and his face is different especially his eyes... You can see there is a different even he gotten skinnier than before but his nose really is beautiful now high and sharp, before it was flat and round
i never knew he was rich ... you would never thought that from the way he presents himself...very well mannered and not prince type....and he's very professional with his work.
Not sure about any reconstructive surgery, but I'm rewatching The Last Breakthrough and he used to have a couple of moles on his face that I think have since been removed.
raymond lam has turned "GAY" since he crossed the line to become a singer .. you can tell from his photos and interviews .. gestures and all... sad but yeah .. i think he's taking hormonal pills to maintain his voice ...lol
2 Billion HKD... not 2Billion USD not a big deal they go down fast when something happens in a business.
I always knew he was a f@g, this is a guy who got in the biz REAL easy because he had the connections and the $$$. Maybe that's the reason that I can't find any respect for him... not saying that I hate him or anything.
Hell yea, I am not hating on him either, but hey, -smart he is handsome, sing well, act well, has money, been with girls, comfortable, look healthy, I -clapclap (<_<) him
Dun Think Rich Is a Sin, He do his job quite(Very) Professionally although rich. How many actors can be like that? Gay, Plastic surgery is his own frigging business. Not big Deal if u are in show business Dun hit him below the belt just be cause he is rich
He IS rich....that's y virginia lok supports him... She only treat rich people like human, but for those who're not so rich, trash... i dont hate him, i just hate the higher ups.
