is to have a dream or have a goal. if you neither of that i would recommend you to find one quick . otherwise you can waste a few month, years of your life :(
I think the purpose of life is to find "one's true self ": discovering our destiny of course, we determine our own path, but in society we have been told and trained to be a certain way: to get GOOD at things in order to distinguish ourselves from others... society has taught us to: get good grades get into good school get degree get a good job raise family become athletic etc... anything that we can distingush ourselves from the rest of society As a result, all of these attributes are suppose to give us a sense of purpose in life, but i think society has gotten the game of life all wrong. The game is NOT for you to become someone, but to find out what you already are and we discover what we're destined to be, our true purpose, by simply......living life wow I hope that made some sense..hahaha man i sound a hippy, but whatever...thats my 2 cents
Purpose of life??? thats a good question. I probably won't know the answer to that until i am on my death bed or something =S For now I shall take life as it is and cherish those around me. Until i find that purpose of life I may as well enjoy it while i can hehe... we only get to live once so they say xD
This question has been bothering for quite some time in the sense maybe months till years? But i can't seem to find an answer. Since everything in this world is impermanent except wat they say as karma (good deeds or bad deeds) If fun, joy, happiness, sadness and so on are impermanent, why bother being in this world? Just to do good deeds and help ppl for the rest ur life here? Well, maybe learning a lesson which you didn't in the past may be one of the answer but it seems abit insufficient to me somehow or rather. What happen there's some lesson you didn't learn during ur past life and when u die this life, you learn the lessons which you didn't learn during ur past life but u didn't learn as well some lessons in this life, so if this goes on, how many lessons must you learn in order to not be in this world? If you did learn all the lessons, then where will you be? And wat type of life will you be living? *Puzzle**Puzzle*
my purpose of life literal meaning : feeling happy inside everyone works or tries towards some sorta goal to make themselves feel that way.
at the time when u start to think of the purpose of life, u might be around 14 or above. at that age, u have already learned every different kind of emotion. if u end up with a positive thinking, you will just live on (maybe you'll think about this topic again) if u end up with a negative one, it's really troubling you. and maybe you'll end up with suicide or bite your lips and keep moving on. i think your emotion will guide you to your purpose of life. that's why everyone will have their own.
Life means what you want it to mean. No one can tell you how to live your life and what it means to you.. Not even Jesus.
For my view on the purpose of life is to have fun, because everyone experiences in life in different ways but in the end your life would cease. Even though working hard and achieving goals is important, however in the end whether you are rich or poor, happy or unhappy, old or young one's time would end. Live life to the fullest!
my parents always told me the purpose of life was to get a good education, become someone useful to the society i rckn the purpose of life is to let loose and go crazy and live everyday as if it were your last! , though most of the time my life consists of studying, studying, studying... == pointless
i've been asking that question myself, what's the purpose of life ? i think the correct answer should be to poursue and find happiness but then another question arise, what is true happiness ? i don't know the answer for that question, is happiness physical, emotional, materialistic,social etc etc ?
most main stream religions say that the mean with life is just be a good person (help other, be nice, donate money to the church) and then just waiting to go heaven (or some nice place). Maybe the purpose is many purposes, one for every ppl and every1 need to find that during thier life, so the end is finding the purpose with life IS the purpose with life. I think there is no right answer to this question. the right answer would be different for everyone. saying you need to enjoy life is an answer for an individual person. What about all lives (humans, animals, trees, etc.),Why are they here? could live exist in other planets (I believe they do) . I believe live exist to serve our planet (my theory). If you looked at a large scale in the universe. you'll see that planets will have an atmosphere (a lot of them anyway), these atmosphere are there to protect the planet, preventing it from being destroyed from external dangers. When you see the lives on earth, you see an cycle trying to restore itself by reproducing itself and trying to survive as long as possible. those lifes on earth helps to maintenance of it, by simply living it. there is a lot going on in my head right now but I can't put it on words (sry for my english), but what i'm trying to say is that we are just a small part of a larger entity and whatever the direction is , we are helping to move towards it.

The purpose of life for any individual is driven by one main consideration i.e. the individual's belief in the source of his or her own origin. If the person holds the belief that life is created by chance or random through evolution without intervention of a higher order (i.e. God) then purpose for that individual is confine to self centred purpose and to live life to the fullest of that person's capacity. In contrast, if the belief is that life is created by a higher order then life's purpose is to search out the purpose from the higher order which created life itself.
