I would expect a pair of puma sneakers to last at least a year or two (given that you don't wear the same shoes everyday ) But yeah, questionable quality there...
Walking around in shoes which look as if they just came out of a box is equally, if not more, tacky. Slightly worn has its charm Of course, you can always take the barefeet route

I feel insulted that you ASSUMED that I don't know what a shoe tree is... Although I must say, I don't know that many guys who actually use that, they are still in that sneaker geek stage where they don't know how to take proper care of their leather shoes (let alone knowing that they can have them custom made ) About the local thing, I don't think it really applies to girls... I mean, it would apply on sneakers and casual shoes, but not on those flats and heels... Then again, it made sense since it's a DUDE who told you that I sometimes feel like an old lady/man when I shine my shoes... But not sophisticated enough to get shoe trees for my heels (just keep them in their boxes )

So a shoe tree may ruin them...
