I too, found the image a bit jarring. I think TVB could have shown the same scene but from different angles that didn't show direct frontal view (even though their legs were closed) with the underwear down past their knees (and the implicit understanding then, that their underwear was off). If it had been an adult sitting there, male or female, I probably would have reacted about the same way. This is family television and the image of underpants around the knees, with a frontal view, just begs for disagreement from audiences. Nothing perverted in the thought process, but rather just TMI, IMHO.
born and raised in europe so i don't think i'm close minded, but i think it was unnecessary to show the little girls in this way. all you need is the wall of a toilet and the girls in a sitting stance and the audience will immediately understand "ohhh, they're sitting on the toilet".
i was a ickle surprised by this scene at first but then thought it was sorta cutee... kids acting like grown ups/teenagers...-lol..
