i'm 5'2" and i have the same problem. my friends who are the same height usually have it altered, i hear it's not too expensive. me, i usually alter it myself with my sewing machine which is quite time consuming since i'm not too good at it. i like to shop at the gap, the limited, banana, express and a/x because they have petite and crop pants that fit well.
dnt have that problem in UK, we usually have a petite range for ppl with shorter legs lol. but i like mine long so i can fold them or let them drag, i like the baggy look lol. my bottom of the jeans r ALWAYS ripped, just get a pair of scissors n chop off the bottom loose parts that r torn n have it messy look lol
I happens to me all the time. Since I have short legs, I don't want to fold them up (and I don't ear heels), so I have to cut and sew 'em shorter.
i bought some jeans and cargo pants all the same size, i've tried the jeans, and they fit well and i saw the cargo pants last minute and just bought the same size... it turned out that it's longer than the jeans -.- i use a rubberband at the ankle for those =)
i also always got this problem that my pants are too long. sometimes i just let it drag and sometimes fold it 1 time...sigh i am so short =(
well for me its not that much of a problem. i usually just go for the jeans that have the "short" sizes and they fit just fine. i dont have a sewing machine nor do i want to pay someone 10 bucks to alter the jeans. plus when they are altered.. the edges don't really look like jean edges and its apparent that you got it cut. =/ but when i went to Thailand and ended up buying some nice jeans that were way too long they were able to make the legs shorter and reattach that same edge so you cant tell the jeans were cut, which i thought was pretty nice.
well....my wife gets her new pants altered in Chinatown by a Tailor for $8.00CAD. I know its hard for most Asians (Males included) for finding the right size of pants because most North American designers cater to the white people for size.
Otherwise, I go to places like Bluenotes, where I can pick the length of my jeans. And American Eagle jeans come in "short" and they fit me just fine.
Finding the right length pants is hard...Sometimes I have to bring it to a seamtress to fix the length.
If they're jeans, I normally just fold them For other pants, I'll get them altered. The shop normally does it for free, or a minimal charge.
I hate it when pants are too long! ahhhh ooh i didn't know american eagle had pants that came in short sizes i'll check that out!
