according to first aid DO NOT tilt the head back because the blood will go to your throat and in to your somach, then if alot went in you will vomit the blood, let it leek down and put ice pack on back of neck, i used to tilt back, but i coughed out blood. you hold it in, if its still as bad for 10mins go call ambulance if you were hit, if it ust started happening hold it in till it stops, but if it lasts longer than 20 mins then call ambulance cause nose bleeds could mean big stiff, but usually little stuff
My doctor saids to pinch the nose and have the head tilt forward...NOT backward....and maybe use an ice pack on the forehead.

i usually pinch my nose till its gone. if i'm bored just sitting and pinching my nose, i'll plug my nose with some tissue so i'm free to do whatever.
then i guess u have to look at hot guys then.... or better yet, i'll send u a pic of me. hahahah j/k whenever i get a nose bleed i would pinch the bridge of my nose and stick two tissues up my nose to not let it drip all over the place. i usually get nose bleeds when i first wake up.
i do everything. haha. tilt my head slightly forward while holding a cold towel to my forehead with tissue jammed up my nose as i pinch. it works for me and fast.
yeah when i was a bit younger i ALWAYS used to get nosebleeds lol.. like im in the shower and a second later i get a nose bleed, and im in there freaking out cos all the water is red lol... but yeah just tilt your head downwards and then pinch your nose and dont move your fingers pinching your nose for a while cos if you do, it'll never stop bleeding lol
This works on my niece....had nosebleed in the summer alot. We used icepak on her nose (above the tip) and slightly titl back your head. The cold temperature will thicken the blood flow.
I heard people say to hold your head forward and let the blood come out onto a tissue, It eventually stops as it forms a clot
well.. never had one b4.. nor witness any.. come to think of it.. is there any coorelation of nose bleeding with weather perhaps? jus curious..

I think you get nose bleed when you eat too much fried stuff and your system gets too "hot". You need to drink more ice tea to cool it down.
Most commonly, no one knows the cause to nose bleeds. Other times, it could be due to trauma such as nose picking. Pinch your nose and hold it to stop the bleed.
Best way to stop the bleeding is taking a tisseu and sneeze very softly. Until its stops to bleed. Just basic first aid.
i just pinch my nose and hold my head a lil back...or i just blow it out gently...but nosebleeds seldom happen to me...
when your nose is bleeding, the most appropriate action is to pinch your nose just below the nose bone and to sit down. then you can lower your head a bit forward ( putting your head backwards will just make the blood go in your throat). if it doesn't stop, you can try to put ice packs on you nose. what you want is a blood clot to form so the bleeding stops
whoa this is a fairly old thread lol.... yeah i kinda do a more gross variation which sometimes works..... i like suck the blood from my nose into my throat and then spit it out........ and i repeat till problem is solved.... sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but i also pinch the nose....... and to make sure it really has stopped bleeding i blow my nose, if it continues i repeat the process >____< i woke up to a nose bleed once and THAT sucks......
