i find it odd, compared to all of my ABC cousins, i can speak Cantonese most fluently, even the 3 cousins that are younger than me couldn't speak it as fluently. wonder why, we are all raised by our Canto-speaking grandparents (not the same g-parents though, btw).

Lol. You just answered your own question. Diff g-parents = diff terms, they might not have emphasized on the speaking catonese as much.

Basically, most chinese do speak cantonese. Maybe because of HK movies influences. And if you do speak Mandarin too, you are alright man!

Cantonese...I can speak it fluently, however I am able to read the words but if you ask me to write, I will not be able to do it, strange eh? lol; don't ask me why that is, maybe its because whenever I watched the TVB series, I usually follow-along with the Chinese subtitles...hehe -innocent2 -blush2

wow i would expect more mandarin...lol...anybody here speak say (#4 in canto) yut wa like tou san wa...i can hear it and say phrases not speak it fluently...generally your grandparent speaks it if they are from that area and if you're a 1st generation of ABC
