Just curious as to the Mandarin-Catonese ratio.
i'm Cantonese too. i can speak it fluently, too bad i can't read it.
LOl same, I wish I could read, and write, and perhaps speak more fluently as well.
Cantonese!! Can speak but no writing and reading... haha...
i find it odd, compared to all of my ABC cousins, i can speak Cantonese most fluently, even the 3 cousins that are younger than me couldn't speak it as fluently. wonder why, we are all raised by our Canto-speaking grandparents (not the same g-parents though, btw).
Lol. You just answered your own question. Diff g-parents = diff terms, they might not have emphasized on the speaking catonese as much.
hmm... i guess so...
I'm the new one and can speak cantonese too
I'm Cantonese tooo ...hahaha
no one has said they are mandarin yet.
lol everyone is canto - woop!
hey i'm cantonese too, anyway i can read and write quite alot and i speak alright. This is because i have to go chinese school
I went to sunday chinese school for quite a few years, but when I moved house I stopped going and forgot most of it -cry2
Oh man, only one Mando right now?
canto....chinese school did nothing for me, can't read/write
I'm Cantonese too... wow... I'm shocked. I swear Cantonese sounds so much better than Mandarin.
Basically, most chinese do speak cantonese. Maybe because of HK movies influences. And if you do speak Mandarin too, you are alright man!
Cantonese...I can speak it fluently, however I am able to read the words but if you ask me to write, I will not be able to do it, strange eh? lol; don't ask me why that is, maybe its because whenever I watched the TVB series, I usually follow-along with the Chinese subtitles...hehe -innocent2 -blush2
canto-speaking as well..though I would like to learn mandarin as well..just to communicate with my TW friends
but yeah...can speak...kinda fluently...barely read some..and def can't write..haha....
now i kinda regret not learning when given the chance..but oh well...
wow i would expect more mandarin...lol...anybody here speak say (#4 in canto) yut wa like tou san wa...i can hear it and say phrases not speak it fluently...generally your grandparent speaks it if they are from that area and if you're a 1st generation of ABC
