ok, so there is this thread posted by POWY in the chinese thread that no one really replied to, but i was so curious to see what people had to say. So i'm posting up a new thread, that is more broad. I'll also post this thread in the other Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese sides So everyone, let's post recipes lets so far out please no American adaption cuisine, unless you want to make people barf and lets limit on the requests, how bout this you can only request a dish, only if you post a recipe first sounds fair right?
Bi Bim Bop Ok i guess it's only fair that i start off with a recipe be warned, i never learned how to make this officially, i just kinda ate it a few times, and tried making it, and thought i did a decent job if anyone has any corrections, please make them for me Bi Bim Bop, is a Rice dish I have had it served to me in a hot rock bowl, and also as a cold rice dish ingrediants, cooked ground beef pickled radishes cilantro chile pepper paste Fried egg (where the yolk is still runny) Rice use a big bowl to hold the rice, and arrange the picked radishes, cilantro and beef on it in a pretty fashion, when i saw it, they usually separated it into the three different items than place the fried egg on top and top it off with the chile pepper paste (put some extra on the side for people to add if they desire than it's a beautiful presentation and than at serving someone can go crazy and start hacking at it (more to stir up the contents) SERVE it's SOOOOO yummy! sorry if i totally ruined the recipe, i'm a CBC trying to learn, but i thought it was yummy i have an additional funny story to add when i tried making it, i didn't know exactly how to buy the chile paste so i went to a korean super market and i was trying to ask one of the workers of course, i also was prononcing the dish as "bim bi bop", which is incorrect and the lady couldn't speak english very good so i kept trying to pour or squirt the sauce and mentioned it was red and trying to explain bim bi bop and rice she started to do this stiring motion like crazy YES YES YES anyways it was humours trying to communicate via hand signs
does anyone know how to make the pickled radish/turnip that typically comes with an order of fried chicken? Not the red one like kimchi but the one that's white. (i've tried searching online for the recipe but keep getting the red ones)
Rice Wine Vinegar Sugar (some japanese people also put in a little soy sauce) I can't give you the ratios becuase I always do my measurements by taste Probebly for one cut of rice wine vinegar it's about a quarter cup of sugar? Just get it to a level that it taste sweet and sour at a level that you can stand and enjoy Anywas slice up your diakon and carrots and stick everything in a jar and refrigerate for AT LEAST 3 days first.
