I believe you should do some research and then consult with your doctor to see what works best for you. Each person have their own unique circumstances. As many of the people said here different result for different people. In general I prefer not to have the surgery unless it is necessary such as when you have very bad eyesight. I think the risk outweigh the benefit.

If you pay attention and look around ,you'll find that a lot of Doctor's are wearing glasses, makes me wonder why they don't have laser for themselves.

Too risky for me. I am afraid something will go wrong and then I become blind.

I got lasik 5 years ago and I love it! It didn't hurt at all. However, my eyes are getting bad again maybe because I stare at the monitor too much. It's definitely worth it and I will redo mine

It's only really worth it if you're as blind as a bat, like me...I got my eyes done 7 years ago and have no regrets! The hazy or halo effect from lights at night went away about a year or so later. It sure is nice to be able to see clearly when you wake up in the morning! Do shop around & get a few recommendations though. Good Luc!:smiling:

maybe there are side effects in years to come as this laser treatment is relatively new

My brother-in-law has a laser surgery 4 years ago and it went wrong. He had to get another surgery to fixed it. So DON'T do it. Not worth the risk

I'm looking into getting lasik too. But my eyes are really dry. This makes me reconsider, since after surgery my eyes would be even more dry and probably worst then now. + i don't know if i can cope with the halo at night time since where i work there are lots of bright lights.

    definitely have to reconsider

I suspect it will not last too long, perhaps only ten years. Besides, are there long-term side effects?

I had a friend who went for eye laser surgery.

    Costs him about RM 3000+

Took him about 2 weeks to fully recover. And no more specs for him. :)

RM is Ringgit btw. You can google it and convert the currency to your country's.

it's better to do it in Korea. Really cheap and technology is very advanced. It's about 1.3k aud for both eyes.

just take note that all optician and doctors in this field, if they are wearing glasses, they are still wearing glasses, not even contacts, so they KNOW somethings bad is behind all those

A good friend of mine went to an eye laser surgery few weeks ago. The surgery cost her RM3k for both eyes. And now she doesn't need to wear spectacle anymore.
