I really do hope you know that your SRT-4 is a FF platform. A AWD car cannot do a burnout. All 4 wheels will have to be spinning on the spot without moving, which is impossible. OR you burn your clutch and mess up your diff. Clutch BBQ

Why on earth would you want to do burn outs? A few slow laps is more than enough to warm your tires without causing excessive wear. When you can easily burn out a car, that's a tell tale sign that you're not getting enough traction and all of your power isn't being put down to the ground. I suggest investing in some better tires and maybe a limited slip diff (in the future if you decide to mod) to take full advantage of the power you have.

With regards to the Evo X's power gains. I did some more reading and I found that the 40 HP gain from the intake alone was a mistake. However, there is a 50hp gain from a Stage 1 tune (without further modifications).

^not really the tires, its the car... the SRT4 does make a buttload of uncessesary power haha... so regradless of the tires, it'll still chirp out of place when asked to...

anyways... those tune numbers are amazing... why they decided to run so incredibly rich to begin with is beyond me since we'd think they'd like to keep mpg down... and I'm not all so sure about running max 23PSI throughout the entire band... I guess it's safe since it's the stock peak max... but meh... i'd probably cut it off at around 4500rpms where the torque peak hits and taper it down... just me though... good find btw...

really? Adding an intake alone can do that much? how? an intake takes in air from both the atmosphere and from the exhaust manifold due to emissions. by taking in so much air inside the engine, it'll become too lean and the engine will run like crap. it's not only about the intake. it's about the compression ratio between air/fuel. im not disagreeing nor disbelieving u or anything like that. but i just wanna kno how can adding a intake alone can increase 40 HP. i think ur just exaggerating. even a cold air intake couldnt increaseTHAT much.

he said that there was a mistake, there wont be a 40HP just by upgrading intake. additonal 40Hp come from stage 1 tune.

EvoM is the best site for Evolution info. I've been a member since September 2002. I used to have a Evo VIII MR heavily modified as far as powertrain, drivetrain and subtle exterior goodies. Unfortunutely design school has cost me a bit too much and I had to sell the car. So far, that has been my favorite. Currently I am considering the X as my next vehicle after I which I have just sold my 1.8T GT30R GTi.

im thinking about trading in my viii for an x. the s-awc is tempting and the 4b11 has so far proved itself. the only thing i dont like about the x is the rear.

You need to be behind the wheel on a lightweight FR platform. THOSE are fun to drive. Modern computer assisted 4WD are fun because the gadgets made it fun. Truth is the computer shift the weight to the back, not your footwork. Old school traditional 4WD cars are insane understeering monster. On tarmac that is. Snow is a WHOLE new story. what's ironic is I have pics of the world's best 4WD in my avatar and sig. LOL.

again that's just my point of view. no offense, really.dancey1
