And then they crash a perfectly good car.

  2. Lazy Americans drive automatic and they still crash??? its just a fast go-cart...but the closest to manual the M5 goes is SMG still

M5's are rare indeed. We often see more 6 and 7 series BMW's.

However, I do see a lot of younger kids 16, 17, 18 year olds driving brand new 335xi. Keep in mind these are the twin turbo v6 BMW's with all wheel drive.

I doubt it's their parents car since I always see it on campus. Some parents just don't realize the kind of power they're giving to their kids. They probably don't realize the difference between a 328 and a 335 BMW.

Btw, in defense of the Evo X, there have been claims that an intake upgrade alone can add an additional 40HP (are you ready for this?) TO THE WHEEL!!

why does the new evo suck? the chassis is stiffer, there is a bit more horsepower, more AWD tech goodness... basically everything is better

o rly? 335xi's are rare to me too haha... not many people go for them since with that money u might as well wait and order an M3... it's rare to find an barebone(accesories) Bimmer so the 335xi's should be going for around 48k as it is...

and the 40hp bonus with intake on the evo... it's possible since it is a new engine... but improbable... cuz its 40hp to the wheels from INTAKE >.< i mean ur asking for 15% power gain on intake... that's like asking for 20hp on a intake alone on a Civic >.<

Honestly, I would take the 335xi over the M3 because of the twin-turbo and all wheel drive. Having driven a turbo car I can vouch that it is much more exciting than a big V8 plus, the XI is cheaper than the $72K M3.

I think it might be possible that the intake alone can produce that much power since Mitsubishi has to abide by safety and environmental regulations which might have lead them to release a car with a poorly designed intake system.

last i checked u could get away with a $54k M3... but that's if u get lucky and the dealers aren't gouging the prices... -censored... that's why u order it and wait on it... and about the xi vs M3... depends on taste i suppose... the only thing really going for it in my mind is the awd, and more torque fast and early... my style is thinking u only launch once if u even launch at all... but truth be told... I'd take a 135i over any bimmer offering at the moment though haha... with maybe the Z4M coming in at a close second...

but yeah... i haven't seen it yet but can someone confirm how much whp the X is actually making? i'm actually thinking what Mitsu might be doing is pulling a Ford on their numbers... cuz it seems stupid to me to "restrict" airflow via the intake since u gotta have cats in Cali newayz... and if the intake makes 40whp alone... clearing the cats would make like 80whp >.<... so with simple IHE u can make a miraculous 40% more HP all together?

Personally, I don't think the 1 series is worth it but that's just my own biased opinion. I like 4 door cars so the 1 series is way too small for my taste. The rear wheel drive platform is actually better for launching than all wheel drive platforms. Launching an AWD (if that's what you would even call it) requires you to roll off the line before you open up the throttle.

As far as mods are concerned, I've read about a lot of people who experience significant increases in power from just an Intake, Turbo Back Exhaust, and a Stage 1 or Stage 2 tune.

eh? why does that really matter? ur boost kicks in so early and u hit peak torque at like 1500rpms in the XI...

wait so ur getting numbers from combined intake/catless and stage1 tunes? cuz that makes a lot more sense...

True, but by the time you get on the throttle, the other car is already half a car length ahead of you and is instantly on boost. AWD systems aren't meant for drag races, they exist to provide traction during acceleration.

For the X, the increase in power, from what I understand, is solely from the intake. Combined gain of power from intake, exhaust and tune was refering to previous models. My fault I should've been more clear on that. Sorry.

eh 1/2 a car length isn't much of a deal when ur all ready rolling... u can make that all up with that nice flat torque band on the XI:xd:...

and bout the X... I should probably go look some of it up... thnx though
