i'll have to disagree with that ralphrepo. first of all, i disagree that shu qi has any talents besides "acting" (i think she actually IS) a retarded woman. secondly, back in the days, people know about shu qi's stuff, but getting your hands on it was way harder, internet wasn't widespread yet. nowadays you need like 5 minutes googling and you'll find said pictures/videos, so MORE people will know about a scandal. i do agree, though, that people are forgetting/forgiving about such scandals. look at edison and some of his "victims", like cecilia cheung, they're still doing ok in the business. however, i don't know whether that has to do with their talents or with people just despising the acts on one side but yet admiring them secretly. i know plenty of people who were like very (positively) excited by the news and i'm not talking about horny teenage boys EDIT: I have to come back to shu qi's talents, i think she has some talents in the bedroom. she had been the (rumored) ex of numerous famous artists, so i guess she certainly has some skills somewhere.

Regardless of what either or us thinks: She obviously sells well in the entertainment industry, and whatever she is doing, it can be argued that she's going about it in pretty much the right way. Her filmography history alone demonstrates her talent, averaging 4.6 feature films a year for the last 16 years (roughly three times that of Zhang Ziyi). Granted, while some may consider her to be "retarded" I would bet that many other starlets likely wish that could be even half as retarded as her. I personally find that she grows on people. At first blush, she doesn't seem to be anything special, but then by the end of the movie, you're happy to have seen it; she plays roles well and she's believable in the parts that she plays; which in essence is what acting is all about, IMHO. Did she sleep around? Probably, but if she didn't produce on screen, she wouldn't be where she is, no matter how much mileage she's put on in her boudoir.
regarding shu qui she started out as a softcore pornstar actress i think she did very well for her self as an actress...not a fan of hers though lol she looks and sounds too much like a whore-lol
