personally i still prefer the mando version. i wouldn't say it's very bad for the canto version... still ok for me...just that he sounded a lil funny -unsure what do you guys think?
yeah it does sound weird, but that's only because his main language is mando. he has an acsent. this is the second mando person i've heard that sang in cantonese. overall, its not too bad tho'. maybe he'll perfect it next time.
lol...is there such thing as mando person? anyway i've heard quite a number of mando speaking artists singing canto songs and i think they fare better than JJ...e.g.: Fish Leong 梁靜茹 with 原來你也唱過我的歌 Michael Wong 光良 with 童夢 (duet with Janice 卫兰) Gary Chaw 曹格 with 海邊的卡夫卡, 左右无缘 and 快樂地圖 (with Hins Cheung 张敬轩 & Janice 卫兰) i preferred the mando version of Jiang Nan too... I'm a big fan of JJ but i think he gotta work harder if he wants to breakthrough the Hong Kong market. someone posted this song here: http://www.dramasian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23309&highlight=Jiang credit: kitkit88 here's the lyrics: 沿岸聽清風撲面 Yuen ngon ting ching fung pok min 面目便帶著懷念 Min muk bin daai jeuk waai nim 迷漫雨點中發現 Mai maan yue dim jung faat yin 現實是愛不過為留念 Yin sat si oi bat gwoh wai lau nim 緣分寄生三世石 Yuen fan gei saang saam sai sek 石上附載約誓未兌現 Sek seung foo joi yeuk sai mei dui yin 情是最艱辛試練 Ching si jui gaan san si lin 練就下世的愛在沉澱 Lin jau ha sai dik oi joi cham din 圈圈點點圈圈 Huen huen dim dim huen huen 淅淅瀝瀝依依稀稀 花瓣也許聽見 Sik sik lik lik yi yi hei hei fa faan ya hui ting gin 迷途戀人們 以為江南情不變 Mai to luen yang moon yi wai gong naam ching bat bin 明明越愛越錯相戀多痛苦 Ming ming yuet oi yuet choh seung luen doh tung foo 比不起美麗照片得到那保護 Bei bat hei mei lai jiu pin dak do na bo woo 到頭來一天 秦淮乾枯 Do tau loi yat tin chun waai gon foo 塵世上再沒景色不染污 Chan sai seung joi moot ging sik bat yim woo 明明越錯越愛單思多痛苦 Ming ming yuet choh yuet oi daan si doh tung foo 比不起燦爛記憶於心裡依附 Bei bat hei chaan laan gei yik yue sam lui yi foo 痛會磨練身心 柔腸肌膚 Tung wooi moh lin san sam yau cheung gei foo 情會淡化在蒼蒼煙雨中 傷心的典故 Ching wooi daam fa joi chong chong yin yue jung seung sam dik din goo
nah i actually think both is good. i was surprised at first that jj lin sang in canto and after i heard it, i was shocked that he could actually sing in canto.
I heard JJ's Cantonese version of Jiang Nan, and I must add that it didn't go down too well with me. The tune seems to run a little awkwardly with the Cantonese diction. It's a little bit like the Mandarin versions of Cantonese songs; most people would be able to tell that the Mandarin version isn't the original one, and well, the Cantonese version ends up being the much preferred one. Same case here. Not that I don't entirely dislike the Cantonese version of Jiang Nan, but I'd choose the Mandarin original any day.
i prefer the mando one for sure!!! even tho the canto one is okay but the mando one just sounds better because it's more original
hi canto sounds really gd.. i was surprised that he knew canto... hahah.... i totally love the canto version too
I love both versions but I think the lyrics are more meaningful in mandarin. Could some1 reup the song cause the link's not working.
