I'm waiting for a mod chip for the ps3 before i make the plunge and buy the ps3. I read that they are working on having the games stored on the HDD and run from there much like the ps2 hd loader. Rent and copy to HDD.

^^ I don't think there will be a mod any time soon cause the games are region free... plus if there was a mod I don't think a lot of people have blue-ray burners to burn the games... plus the blank blue-ray disk cost a arm and a leg xD...

there is a way to copy games and burn them and then play them on your PS3 already

you need to install linux and do a bunch of crazy shit first though

your in for a long ass wait...might as well get it now and buy used games from gamestop and return them before your 7 days are over

who cares, as long as u spend ur money wisely and get the best games then u will end up paying less than getting a mod chip installed. besides that way u don't have to wait either. also, if u get preowned games they will be cheaper or get the ps3 with a bundle with the best games at the mo.
