    like everyone has mentioned; diamonds = girl's best friend -lol but as long as you're a sweet and loving guy, the simpliest gestures work :p

    have flowers sent to her at work
    jewelery, bracelets/necklaces will usually do the trick
    cuddly toys
    a nice dress (maybe you're inviting her to a ball)

    even very simple little things... like a cd you burnt with your favourite songs
