    Hi all:

    I want to calculate the PE on the following companies (last 12 months) : IBM & Costco.

    Anyone knows how to solve the question????? Please help me out, please tells me some guidline how to solve the question.

    Also does anyone know the answer of this question: "What is a total return on a company"

    PE.. you talking about the Price-to-earning ratio?
    if so:


    P/E = Price per share / Annual earning per share

    The total return of a company is also known as return on capital employed (ROCE), it is calculated by:

    ROCE = Net Profit x100/Capital invested
