    emu oil.. =="...
the only thing i've realised is whenever i'm stressed my ezcema gets so much worse...it just becomes irritated etc...especially the ezcema around the eyes, it's not nice.
lets just say my ezcema hasn't really improved at all..
using less steroid cream n shizz... cos that's left my skin really scarred..
man i'm toooo lazy to go to the doctors.. it's such a hassle.

back in the day they gave me "protopic cream" to use ..which was good, but apparently that increased the chance of cancer, so i doubt i would get that prescription again.

Ermm i would genuinely try Eucerin, you can get them in Boots, I used it for my face and i'm sure there should be a hand cream too.,..

Coz when my face gets too dry and starts getting all the eczema etc, when I used it it worked WONDERS! and it's reasonably priced too :)

yeah it is but what you have to think about is that if you compare it to those really named brands like "god knows what" they will be like £20 - £30 +...
But it is the next best thing if you can afford that and it is worth getting it.. thinking of getting that when I have finished my E45 bottle but that gets me greasy where as Eucerin doesn't

I have mild cases of eczema usually during warmer temperatures on my fingers. I usually apply prescription creams and they do work but it's kind of messy so I only apply once every other day. Plus it's not good to use for long term so best thing to do in my opinion is to not use products that are harsh for skin and use fragrance free products to prevent further irritation.

i don't but Avene has a pretty good range - suitable for everyone, even very dry red skin. I love their moisture mask!!

my dad had a pretty bad case of it. he was given prescription ointment which worked for awhile but it came back..finally the dermatologist gave him this shot and after a couple treatments it went away. it's been 2 years and nothing has come back.

talk to your derm about other options, let them know that you've been doing the ointment and it hasn't worked. I'm sure there's stronger stuff out there.

  8. ^stronger stuff usually comes in the form of steroids. what was this 'shot'?

It was probably another steroid, but given systemically (instead of topically) as a last resort.

yep i hate it too. i try not to use very hot water when i take a shower and use a humidifier. moisturize right after a shower/bath. shower is best cause u can take a fast one without drying out your skin. but do moisturize couple times a day. i don't have it on my face but find something that won't clog your pores.

im not even dared to use steroid cream no more... definitely not on the face...it just burns my skin now.. red patches that stay red for a long while...
ive also realised like the emlusifying wax (epaderm cream) that the doctors gave me- doesnt actually "moisturise/soften the skin".. it just..creates a layer over my skin.. =/ ....
so i started trying other moisturising creams- even stuff like.. cocoa butter- but my face didnt like this at all!! i think it made me worse haha..

hmm, finished all the evening primrose oil tablets now, im not sure if it has made an effect on me, but i will continue taking some?

  14. ^ yeah there are specific quantities you should take, the ones on the back of the label are usually way way to low, if i can find my book ill take a look and let you know. and yeah you should carry on taking these natural oils.

all creams that have any perfumes in them will burn cus of the chemicals, but cocoa butter is supposed to be really good.
