External Hard Drive NOT Recognized on PC

    try another usb slot like u sed, mayb if u are using the front ones that u may hav on ur comp, use the back

    tried in every single usb port and yet the same thing comes up..

    can may get a refund on it? I checked out ya can get a 500gb for like £58 online...

    nope gf lost the Recipt... so now just trying to figure out ways on how to make the hard drive working..

    is it the usb wire? could that be the problem?

    cant be cos if it is it wouldn't show up all this on the pc+dont forget its brand new..

    What kind of computer do u have? Here's a few things to try:

    - Try the external harddrive on a different computer.
    - Try taking the harddrive out of the enclosure and plugging it in directly into your computer
    - Based on your computer, look up the USB drivers and see if you can reinstall the driver.

    it looks to me as if its the comp not installing the device properly from the screenshots. its quite strange. perhaps try it on another comp.

    running on win xp sp2?
    cause sp1 doesn't comes with usb driver.

    i just give it to ming to see it first..den wot eva happens i just tell u lot

    u can check by right click on My computer -> properties
    it tells ur pc is service pack 2 or not.

    or try
    Right click on My computer -> properties -> hardware(tab) -> device manager
    see if the usb hdd have any yellow color question mark or not. if got, try to update driver.

    ok den problem finally solved i was the wire that came with thhard drive
    that was a bit dodgy...tried it with another one and it worked...-dead

    oh u should get the wire replaced, then again u don't have a receipt but its ok as u can only use a set amount of usb devices at one time cos it is limited by the ports on ur pc and so u could just use a different one.

    fook - did u actualy install the h/d with the cd that may hav came with it? mayb it cld have wrked then at the time, if ya installed the driver from the cd 1st...
