Episode 19 Another splendid performance by the couple, Steven and Linda. When they heard the news that their baby is dead, I felt the pain. They potrayed it so well. And Linda sweating, crying and giving birth added pain to the scene. Sigh. Such an emotional episode. From Roy grieving over Vicky's abortion and then Steven's baby death. Roy(Raymond) did a good job over the abortion too. Disturbing and emotional episode. What do u think? No wonder Vicky(Fala) has to die in this show, she is unforgiveable, I mean it will be hard for the family to accept her again. But I read in the newspaper that her death is also quite saddening. U think she deserves to die?
HELL YEA. SHES S"UCH A LITTLE BEY*CH... episode 19 was so saddd, why did she have to kill stevens baby too. Steven and Linda acted so well when they heard the news but i thought that raymond was not that good, sometimes he would look very haw-leen but then others he would just look normal. I hate Fala in this series she does the most hurtful things. I was actually really sad, usually don't get emotional over dramas lol. Too many unfortunate things towards the end of the series. Again i think that he director did not do so weel like his other series and it kind of got less ineteresting towards the end. What do you think?
I still love this drama AznAve88. I think the only mistake the director did is pushing too many emotional/sad parts at the end,. Should put some in the middle...
Hmmm...I think that the build up was rather good. They put the sad things towards the end to push Steven to the brink of despair. Then they probably help him to pick up on the missing pieces to move on with life, as the title goes. Eps 19 was so emotionally charged, and I agree with tien317. Steven and Linda portrayed their grief well, and for Linda...what can I say. She has never seen a person give birth, and yet, hers was one of the most convincing (and realistic) birth scenes I've ever seen. Even veterans tend to overdo the shouting and screaming, but hers was just right. Wonderful and smashing performance. I kind of forgive Fala. I don't think she deserves to die. I'd rather she reform like Linda. Actually Fala's scenes with Steven were quite touching too, the way Steven refuses to acknowledge her as his sister anymore...and her scenes with Raymond. Not too bad.
^^ I agree with what has been said. I thought episode 19 eclipsed a bit too fast and seems like it's another traditional TVB ending. Fala is the most pathetic person to play the role (inside and out). Again, she's stuck with these type of role and she doesn't do a good enough job. What shocked me was Steven's inability to cry during the death of the child. How could he still be happy, and not shed a tear? Why did they have to roller coaster the death of the child? Makes no sense. More so, at 7 month, the child could possibly be taken out... hmmm ? The way it transpired seemed a bit too cliche and for no apparent reason. Their baby didn't have to die, but alas it's a story afterall. I mean you could say TVB wanted to branch away from the happily ever after ending they've known to have for decades; or leave a mixed bag like the 7th day and what not. Right now everyone is in turmoil, but I don't see why TVB pushes FALA so much but gives her these types of roles. She cannot act those dramatic roles... I hope 20 ties it up.
I agree with what everyone has said on episode 19. This episode was very tragic for Linda and Steven. It was already considered a miracle that Linda got pregnant and now thanks to Fala's childish behaviour Linda and Steven lost their 7th month old baby, Sing Hoi Yee. Linda's performance on giving birth to the stillborn was phenomenal with the correct mixture of crying and screaming only adding to the pain and sadness. Like dreyvii said her performance is the most convincing and realistc birth scenes I've ever seen. Steven's inability to cry during the death of his daughter is because he wanted to be strong in front of his family and not have them worry more for him. He did cry when he was alone and carving the sculpture for his girl. It's not the over-exaggerated crying like Roy. I think Espresso Bunny is probably right that TVB branch away from the cliche happy endning to stir up some more emotions and interest in people. Fala's performance is mediocre and she's not that great at these dramatic performances. Fala's action up to now are all for herself and she had no regret until the Rich Man dumped her. I would say that her actions are unforgiveable but at the same time it would be better to see her reform and be a better person. Another point is that after her actions, it would be hard for herself to move on and maintain a stable mentality. The preview for episode 20 is somewhat confusing and leaves me guessing. I hope episode 20 ties up the series nicely. (My prediction is the both Linda and Steven will run the marathon as the final scene).
Haha, hmmm for a guy who can't cry it's ok what......that's what makes the ep20 possible......OMG why Fala has to die....she already suffers in the end liao.......though i dun really like her but haizzz......ep19 is sooooo sad..........just cant wait for ep20 and hope it has season2 LOL which is kinda impossible....
As for ep20 i can roughly guess what's going to happen from the preview(ep19)-(dun wanna spoil), just wanna watch the emotional part of them....which is why i like about this series.....mixture of laughter,sadness,.....and a bunch of good actor and actress
Darn it Fala...Why'd she make Linda and Steven's baby die for? DIEM GAI?! I suggest the screenwriter's give Linda and Steven ANOTHER baby ... hmmm... like Linda and Steven are running in the race at the last Episode and Linda and Steven win First and Second place and she barfs because she's pregnant again! Ok well it's too much of a happy ending then and REALLY BAD. =[
Even though she was the one who caused the problems, i still think she doesn't deserve to die. She can learn from what she did wrong but you know Steven doesn't actually hates her sister. After all, their relationship is not that ordinary, they are brothers and sisters. They have to have some love for each other but this is how episode 20 will run... Fala will die, ay, oh well.
The child was already dead in the womb. Which is why I said it's very realistic. Things like these do happen in real life, where you go through trauma and the child dies of a sudden death inside. Hmmm...having another baby so soon sounds a little corny. I'd rather they tie it up with them finishing the race together, just to show their support for each other. That's exactly what I meant. Fala doesn't have to die. I would have preferred she went back to stay with the family and apologized for her mistakes...and maybe get together with Raymond in the end.
I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, it obviously does. But for them to say they were okay, but then suddenly say the child lost the pulse seems odd at the moment. You would had thought they could've pronounced 'death', instead of the quick shift. I know Steven wanted to cry, but I believe it's his inability to act in those sad scenes. He's a great actor and I've always said it, but for him to not shed a tear is just terribly odd, given the scenario. Seems to fictitious. I'm only saying this deeply because this series is best I've seen in 2008. -bday I'm not looking too much into it either. It's tough. My prediction is they do that 6 months - 1 year later thing and things are happy and they have a child and perhaps Steven wins the marathon or something. I never watch the opening parts of the series so I don't guess it out hahaha. -batman-batman-batman-batman
^ The initial check was on the mother. The mother was fine, and escaped with minor cuts and bruises. But she didn't feel the foetus kick, and that's why they did the scan and found the foetal pulse absent. Steven did cry. When he was holding the baby with Linda, he shed a tear. And also when he was carving the angel for his daughter.
Well, I und why Steven acted normal in front of everyone. He didnt cry but as his mum and linda says, he has changed a little. And he did lose his temper in front of Kam Shek (Kent). And I thought when he came out from the operation room, his emotion was good and nicely done. And the cast there supported quite well. Sigh. Sad episode, added pain by STeven and Linda's great performance. Spoilers Steven will cry bitterly with his mum after the death of Fala adding to his pain of losing his baby. Linda will be pregnant at the very end of the show....Just to add back some joy to the series....
I don't like Fala Die because I think should give her a chance with Roy. Now Roy really left with nothing/
not sure but i think vicky might die, i don't think she deserves to die as no one does. anyway i saw on the preview of kent getting hit by a brick, hopefully he doesn't die.
