My parents, along with my girlfriend and a lot of my friends like durian. Personally I can't stand the smell long enough to try it. I am however told it's better to try the ice cream first and slowly work myself up to the fruit. Still, I don't think I am going to try the ice cream any time soon. -whistle

I love durians. It is the king of fruits in my country. Although the smell is kinda strong, but is not the like the odor smell from the rubbish or other stuff.

i've only had the frozen durian. I don't think we have fresh durian in australia, at least i haven't seen any. I love durian but mum always make us eat mangosteen afterward. some balancing effect with the 'heat/cool' thing.

my friend bought a durian once mistakening it was jackfruit. did she ever get a suprise with the smell. shoved it in the oven and forgot about untill dinner and almost fainted from the smell when she opened the oven door.

i can't stand the smell of it so i wouldn't be able to eat it. my parents really like the stuff though so they think its tasty. they also like the fruit that looks like a star. i don't know what it is called but they think that tastes good as well.

One time my friend eating durian.
I went up to him and said "OMG! Your eating a pile of poop!"
he said "No... this is durian. Its suppose to smell like that"
then i said "NO MAN!! ITS POOP! ITS ALL BROWN!"
he said "oh gawd!!!" and ran aroudn the room screaming.
Apparently it all smells the same.

i can stand the smell, taste is ok too, but i don't like the texture of durian. i would eat it if it was put into the freezer. cause then it would harden, and it would be like ice cream.

Its sooo stupid when you hear white people on TV talk about durian fruit like it smells like sick or poo. Dam whats wrong with these people, it might smell a bit strong but nothing like sick or that
