Durian - smelly or tasty?

i like them, and actually i can't really smell them either. then again i can't smell things like laksa either, so my smell is quite non discriminating

 

does it really taste like ice cream?

 

HAha... if u live in Malaysia, durian is like everyday apple and oranges to us, but they come in season ...ppl here loves it.. me too!!!! It taste really great !!!(for me lar of course) of course there are still some exceptional cases where ppl still couldnt accept it...but that smelly tofu??? yaiks!! i really don't like it.. i've tried once, once it enter my mouth, i swollowed it, i thgt like wat ppl said, it taste great, DAMN!!!! i rush to the toilet and brushes my teeth like? million times...OMG i dont think i will even wanted to put it into my mouth again...Yaiks...the odour.... i now understand why some ppl can't take Durians..... haha

Durian smells really bad, but if you eat it couple times, the taste grows on you and you don't smell it at all!

i like it alot when i was small boy when after my 21 year old i have a chicken pop than i did not like durian any more... i did not know why..every time i see durian it like tiger shit.

the taste is definately better than it smells... I ate a lot when I was younger but the expensive price stuck it off my budget making it an optional seasonal fruit on my buy list. Also there is no import of Malaysian durian in USA...

IMHO, Malaysian durian taste better than Thailand. The later just taste sweet.

Probably I m born from a country where i smell durian even from infant.hehe
so it doesnt stink to me.
but is best to eat in open air..not in the closed area like house, office. the smell can be quite long...and when some people burped after eating durians...urgghh u can smell it...nauseating smellllll!!

I too love the taste and smell. Although when it's really ripe, the smell is super strong... and sometimes I can't stand the smell. But it's just so good. lol. Love it.

 

i think its smelly and yucky but i loved it when i was little...so hmm..its weird.
