oh, does anyone else have a problem with the dl site -- i wait/enter the code after the timer but am told that the session is invalid (i'm not using AOL) :(

I'm not sure why it's happening to both of you. I've been using IE6 with no problems at all. Edit: My friends that are using Mozilla are fine with Rapidshare. You really shouldn't let it wait too long before you enter the code. That's probably it.
thanks. the problem is that this still happens when i enter the code __immediately__ after the timer has expired so i dun know how it thinks my session has been timed out. any advice greatly appreciated!
whatdoido, I've had a quick browse on the net. This is a common problem, and appears as though it is only a problem for users on certain ISPs. No one is really sure why this is happening, even masking/re-routing your IP address doesn't help. I found out that people who're connected to an ISP which has a non-transparent proxy for checking speed that monitors downloads and uploads, and not browsing. RapidShare checks your IP when you first click on the download(before timer). But, when you enter the code and try to download, it checks IP and finds the proxy. Result: "Invalid Session" Other servers also use a similar check, but they have got it right. Seems like it's RapidShare's limitation. On top of it, they dont have a proper mechanism for us to give feedback or complaints. I guess the logical solution would be to use other servers.
