He isn't called God for nothin'. lol. There's always mysterious aspects of those people who you (or at least I) don't really know anything about except for the fact that they're rich, famous and successful like Bill Gates or Donald Trump. hehe. Just thought I'd throw in a side thought. Back on topic: I admit, I am not good at explaining and the illustration I gave was an illustration someone else gave me on the topic of God's omniscience and free will. When you say "...every single step that the person is going to take" are you implying that the "going to take" means action that will occur? After all it does say "going to take" which does not necessarily mean "will take"? IMO. "going to" indicates future intent/expectation but does not necessarily mean will indefinitely happen. About the red/black dress (omniscience) example: it's hard to take in the example in a strict sense because I'm thinking of factors such as time because although you may know I'm going to wear the black dress, I still may change dresses. If that makes sense?
Exactly! That's what I am on about! There's NO way I am going to "KNOW" you WILL wear the black dress for sure. Let's say if I am God, and I know for sure you will wear the black dress, that would mean YOU have NO free will to choose the red or the mix colored one. What we are discussing here is this point : THERE CANNOT BE AN OMNISCIENT GOD AND FREE WILL FOR US PRESENT AT THE SAME TIME. It is definitely a paradox there when they say God is omniscient and when we are supposed to have free will. Like how is God supposed to be omniscient (meaning He already KNOWS what we are going to pick) and we have the free will to make the choice at the same time?
^hahaha. uhh.. God is beyond time? lol. umm.. same time in same dimension in the same galaxy and same earth i don't really know. but i do believe that God is beyond time. <-- my belief maybe think of it this way: we make choices. choices that we want. God merely knows about the choices we make?
