wow, i never realized how expensive phones cost now. sony ericssons are nice, but some people say they're not as durable as nokias.
errr my SE fones have been the best fone's I've ever owned... the k750 that i have... still my favorite... and one sturdy sucker...
ye sony k750 is gd but i think the more future proof one was the k800i. it is rather thick but for functionality its just brill and screen is pretty large too. i agree with rth in the fact that most phones are built to be durable these days and it depends on ur luck rather than being able to say a certain manufacture makes more durable phones.
i wouldn't say i abuse my phones,,but after about 6 months, they start malfunctioning. in HK, do the prices drop much? i wanna get a phone there but i don't wanna spend too much since all the technology i touch doesn't last more than a year =_="
i dunno, i find that the cost of mobile phones in HK is about the same as UK if not more expensive, but thats prob cos its unlocked but the phones in the UK are locked so they tend to be cheaper.
