The Chinese community from where I come from has been indirectly marginalised and had to work hard to make a living. But we still end up on the top of the economic pie
Yes, I'm proud to be a Chinese. it's something i can't change because it is a part of me and I like who i am.
purely our diversity is enough....our cuisine varies so much from the north to the south. The historical culture and just chinese principles in general e.g. working hard etc... of course some of this is stereotyped but you get the point = P
OR, there's another option =) He's trying to get his post counts up, as he has a very low amount. But in any case, I think that one's ethnicity should never be doubted, and every Chinese should be proud that they are Chinese. Now that is not to say that Chinese people have not conducted any bad deeds, but regardless, we should be proud of our culture and ethnicity.
Yes, Proud to be! Don't be a 'BANANA PEOPLE'. In my country, lots of Chinese like to speak only English to others and some even pretend that they can't speak Chinese. They also look down on those Chinese who speaks Mandrin. These type of BANANA PEOPLE pretend that they were WHITE (European). The faq is our skin is in Yellow color, same goes to banana. When you peel down the banana's skin, inside also Yellow in color. What I am trying to say is, we can't change it, if you are a Chinese that means you are.
those so called banana people can not help to be like that.. some chinese people who lives away from the family country and away from the culture is less likely to be Chinese. they will be more like "white" people like the bananas. yes i am defending them coz every BBC or ABC etc will be like that but maybe to the extent you describe though
