2.1 is fail, im running a 7.1 surround sound setup atm, it sucks though cuz my creative sound card is from like 1999, it supports 7.1, but not very well
2.1 is solely for music. If you're just going to listen to music, get 2.1. A better solution for your surround sound setup would be to get a card that will allow to output a digital signal and have that hook up to a digital receiver then out to your speakers. Much like a true home theater system. Keep in mind though, 5.1 and 7.1 aren't the best options for music.
ha.. then you fail.. 2.1 don't have to be just for music..?? I'm not trying to hear all the sounds with shit flying behind me or anything..
shit!! I was like this close getting the 5500.. but damn.. the thing is too powerful.. I think I better reconsider.. Hows the G51? they look pretty alright..?
2.1s don't have to be used only for music. You can watch movies and play games with a 2.1 setup but the experience won't be quite up to spec with say a 5.1 or a 7.1 setup. On paper the Z-5500 seems like an insane setup and it is but keep in mind you have full control volume and bass. I would still get the Z-5500 because of its DTS and Doly Digital surround sound and also its ability to handle both digital optical and digital coaxial connections. Also, the 5500 is THX certified where as the G51 is not.

I only had 2.0 in mind.. then it went from 2.1 to 5.1.. ; Keep in mind this thing is huge!! seriously the pics make it look small.. -lol when we gonna put all of our systems together and tear up the whole block!?
What 7.1 system are we talking about here ??? For the price of a dodgy set of Creative 7.1, you can prob buy yourself an amp, 2 bookshelves speakers which will most likely shit all over any dodgy set of 7.1's
