2015 Miss Hong Kong Contestant Iris Lam Nearly Drowned at Swimming Event

During an event for the 2015 Miss Hong Kong Pageant <2015香港小姐競選>, contestant number 5 Iris Lam (林凱恩) suffered from leg cramps during the friendly swimming competition and nearly drowned. Life guards at the scene acted quickly and pulled her out of the pool, she was then escorted backstage by staff afterwards.

Iris accepted an interview from reporters and claimed that her left leg cramped up due to being tired from dance rehearsals, she said: "I thought I would be okay but my leg cramped up all of a sudden. I tried to shake if off and continued swimming. My leg continued to cramp when I couldn't touch the floor of the pool. I swallowed quite a bit of water!" Iris also indicated that she was nervous since she never raced before.

When asked if she's unhappy for showing an unappealing side to the public, she said: "I am sad because the other contestants were worried about me. Some even cried! (Who cried?) Karmen Kwok (郭嘉文) and Hayton Ng (吳慧堯)."

There are always media play with these. Always saying shit like the contestants don't get along, bullying, all those types of bullshit. This could be from TVB side though.
