It was reported that Daniel Wu’s (吳彥祖) restaurant, Monster Sushi, owed tax arrears of 119,000, which has been filed with the Inland Revenue Department with the District Court. The tax arrears were in profits and provisional taxes. In 2008, Daniel Wu, director Tony Chan (陳國輝), and Sushi One Group Limited set up their first branch of Monster Sushi at the Langham Place mall in Mongkok. Daniel did not have previous experience in managing a business, but he invested in the restaurant due to his love of sushi and Japanese culture. Over the next five years, more branches of Monster Sushi were opened in Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui. When the Hong Kong paparazzi visited Monster Sushi at the Mongkok branch, the restaurant’s business was brisk even on a weekday evening. There was even a long queue of customers waiting outside the shop. The branch manager, Jim, shared that business has always been good. Staff has always been promptly paid their wages. Daniel and his wife, Lisa S., are currently enjoying their second home in South Africa, where the couple got married in 2010. The couple decided to take a vacation before the birth of their first baby in June.
