Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) and Wang Feng’s (汪峰) high profile romance has brought both blessings and gossips. After a string of public displays of affection, some believe the two are making good progress in their relationship and may be ready to take it to the next level. When Ziyi withdrew from some of her job obligations, the press is quick to speculate that the 34-year-old may be pregnant. Ziyi and Wang Feng’s romance was exposed in July when the two were seen together at an Eason Chan’s (陳奕迅) concert. Since then, they were spotted several times going on dates overseas. Wang Feng tagged along when Ziyi was in Los Angeles promoting her film The Grandmaster <一代宗師>, and was later seen with her once again as they shopped for matching jewelry in Las Vegas. The two have been the target of ruthless gossips ever since their relationship was revealed. Some criticized Wang Feng as a poor match, saying that the rock musician is only able to make headlines thanks to his association with the acclaimed film queen. Previously linked with Mainland TV host Sa Beining (撒貝寧), Ziyi is accused of cheating on her former love while also being the third party in Wang Feng and ex-wife Kang Zuoru’s (康作如) marriage. Perhaps to clear Ziyi’s name, Wang Feng announced on September 13 that he is officially divorced. The couple became more passionate than ever, showing off their love by holding hands in public and often wrote saccharine messages to each other on Weibo. Currently filming John Woo’s (吳宇森) disaster epic The Crossing <太平輪>, Ziyi attracted pregnancy rumors when she suddenly withdrew from previous work commitments. Some also cited the film crew’s decision to move the shooting location from Taiwan to Ziyi’s hometown Beijing as “evidence” of her alleged condition.
