GTV’s X-Family has the problem of plagiarizing works! Thousands of fans is bombarding furiously Calvin Chen who is acting as Lan Ling Wang in X-Family, the costume copying famous game Final Fantasy’s character Cloud, the online gamers were so angry that they scolded the TV station, and announce madly that they are going to reject watching the show altogether. They even request GTV to stop showing this drama and wrote a letter to Final Fantasy Japan Production to suggest suing the opposite party. “The X-Family” is going to be on air the next following day evening 9pm, however, before the first airing there actually came out with plagiarizing problems. Online gamers put up Lan Ling Wang and Cloud’s picture, and used red pen to draw out the similarities, including both parties’ clothes are all black in colour, zip at the collar, right shoulder with should guard, round shape designs with little silver rings and locks, the left sleeve is of long and bellowing sleeve, other than Calvin’s black hair and Cloud’s golden hair is an obvious difference, the similarity is more than 90% FF is a famous game, and was also turned into a movie before, previously there is already a South Korean female singer who was accuse of copying Cloud’s costume in her MV and was being sued by Japan’s SE. Online users furiously said, “Matters regarding plagiarizing and copying will never end… a drama that is not controlled by copyright laws, using other people’s works without permission, including the jewellery’s also have license… this is a serious and shameless act of theft.” GTV’s project planner manager Cai Ji Qiao said yesterday, the drama is fully produced by Comic Production, currently is full being handled by Comic, and will definitely look into this situation. Calvin said, he wore what the drama crew asked him to, he did not understand the design procedure at all. “X-Family” producer Wang Xin Gui said helplessly yesterday, all the character outfits all went through group discussion; they indeed refer to some pictures during the design procedure, but currently he has not seen Cloud’s look. He said, “Our original target is to look like Rome warrior; seriously, our company usually look seriously into copyright laws, we had spent a lot of money on filming comic dramas and buying copyright license from Japan. Currently, I am still in the process of understand the situation, a design that is collated and obtained from here and there is actually being reported as plagiarizing, this is really very difficult to understand.
I'm sure if anyone googles "rome warrior" and look at the images, it would not look identical to Cloud from FF7. Jeez the fans don't need to circle in red where the similarities are. It looks very obvious to me, looking at both pics that it's been plagarized. Even the black top with a zip down the middle is the same... rome warriors don't wear that, they wear metal stuff x_x;; even most of the straps are nearly in the same place. Call me biased coz I'm a FF fan too... but it looks like they did copy. Probably though FF's always been a big hit so they thought copying the style would get them to look good too. Blah =/

talking about plagiarizing....aren't most of the taiwan idol dramas are adapted from japanese manga? that's why I hate those series...
seriously u can't blame him.. it's the company who made him wear this outfit.. so seriously dont' blame him... he is just doing his job
