tried updating to the latest WLM (9.0) but keeps getting errors. iv used the lil windows help link - no use :( No antivirus, firewall or any other programs that could possibly interfere with the installation were opened during the installation. Currently on Windows XP Prof. SP2 heres a screen shot of the error. any1 got an idea? thanks heaps
actually programs need not to be closed as it will ask you to close them during installations, i just installed this on 2 computers without any issues, probably msft's server issue?
still have the older version of wlm. any useful major differences in this one to justify an upgrade or should i stay with the older version?
WLM 9 goes well with Win7...imo...anyways, there are what you will see: - participant's images are located on the left hand side now - participant's images can go hiddle with single click - the option to show your friends' msn icon or show none - menu bar can be hidden with single click as well - messenger's skin can be applied without the use of 3rd party plugins - messages sent by one participant before others reply are consolidated << so no more person A says ... person B says ... >> - allows more than 1 session to be signed on - all icons are floating meaning that will get embossed when you mouse-over - no more extra tabs for easy access websites - by default, animated icons can be used now, no more 3rd party plugins - auto mouse-over popup menus, no more extra clicks - the use of colors for displaying user's status (green, orange, red)
- New image sharing facility (both can view shared image gallery) - Groups for contacts Msn Plus works with it too!
I hate the new one tho... I like the function before how you can sort by offline/online, groups, updated spaces... They don't have it for the new one...
i had the same problem. try downloading windows installer cleanup utility. remove all windows live and msn items. then install window 9 again. Hope this helps.
