I just want to clarify the wii console.

when people say it's chipped does that mean i can download games from the web? or only means that i can play every countries games and not only PAL.

    Another question,

what is the best antivirus software on the market for laptops? What does everyone else use?

    thankx-blush

Well I believe that Norton or Kapersky are some of the best antivirus software on the market--Just my opinion

i thought that chipped means u can play all games... downloaded... and burnt.
and for antivirus. i think it was norton that uses alot of system resources. i use AVG the free version, but it seems to do the job ;)

I think chipped means the ability to play burnt/downloaded games.

AVG professional uses little ram so it's good for laptops.

ye chipped, means that it will play all games from any country and games that u burn urself. but i think when burning u should burn at slow speeds or something to ensure that the game will run smoothly. u can download games on bittorrent i would assume. i personally don't have a chipped wii so i can't help u with the burning process or anything.

for antivirus, nod 32, norton, zonealarm and kapersky are the best i reckon. i just run nod 32 for my comp as it uses fairly few system resources.

games are cheap yes..but they are tons of crapy games out there for the Wii..the only decent ones are the ones that are for made by nintendo the rest of the 3rd party ones really suck....

i wouldn't do the modifying myself on your wii if you mess up on the soldering you can have a brick wii and have to buy another one. Did that to my PS2 and made it pretty useless :(

    @fookjay

the wii is relatively easy compared to the PS2 chip which had 10 to 17 wires to solder the wii key i believe only has 5 points of soldering...but like i said above don't do it unless you are pretty confident in soldering AND can afford to grab another wii if you mess up

cuz you don't want to pay for all the games...the wii is usually not the espensive part of a game system its the games...the system is a one time flat fee of XXX dollars while the games are a reaccuring cost of 50 for each game

    go chip it lolz

    but for real
Europe and the UK is always getting screwed over

look at the prices and launch/releasedates.

even if the dollar was 1 to 1 its still cheaper in the states
