I like to believe in whatever I want. It may be different on some days. I want to make my own choices and decisions based on what is happening at the moment. I don't want to be held back by rules as they are meant to be broken. That is why I am not in any religion. I would like to know the reasons why you are in your religion.
Quite the opposite, its usually people who know there is more to life who seek religion. Look at the person above.
you say that there is something more to life, but what is it? No one could ever answer that when i ask them. if you say after death and you accept God / Allah is your savior, then you will go to heaven, is that not your faith to live on a be a better person? most ppl can't accept that when you die there is nothing else, and they feel they need religion to continue on. All you can do is be a human and learn from life experience that what's makes life worth living: and that is essentially what it is all about. the person who posted originally, he doesn't sound confused to you? He sounds like he need help picking out a religion.
Really most people believe or have faith because here's your possibilities. You die, God exists and you believe, you go to Heaven or w/e. You didn't believe and here you are stuck in eternal damnation. You die, God doesn't exist, life ends. Well at least you believed in something and you lost nothing in that belief. The best way I can explain it to you is, faith and believing is like someone handing you a $100 bill without consequence or repayment. Why wouldn't you take it? I'm not saying follow all the dogma or semantics of a religion. This is simply regarding faith and being religious. You have to find your own spiritual path. In my opinion people use religion to understand the world around them and to make sense of it. This world is complex and dynamic and for it to simply just be is rare. There is too much chaotic order and perfection to the universe for it to simply be coincidence that all this happened. The simple science behind how we are formed, how oxygen keeps us alive, how the trees grow a certain way, does none of this amaze you and make you wonder why it is like this? We are unique in this universe. Our planet is a special breed rarely found in other solar systems. We are a perfect distance from the sun that we can sustain life. There are no other inhabited forms of life on any of our other planets and if physics, chemistry and biology are constant than we can only sustain life like ours on an EXACTLY similarly situated planet. These to some are miracles which can't be explained and science only shows us how it works not how why it is. Yes people want more to life. There's nothing wrong with living in the moment, but everyone wants more to life. If you read other posts, people don't want to die without having accomplished something. That is making something more of life. We are eternal in the grand scheme of things. Our bodies are made of atoms and molecules which even when we are dead will continue to exist, this is simple physics. However, the universe will eventually spread out so far it will be an endless void, but it will still exist, so in essence we live on eternally and there is more to life . We are the substance that defines the universe.
and if so how does god make itself? and if you look at the bigger picture then there are at least a 1 to a million odds that there can be other planets like ours in the exact same postions. Now miracles, what was miracle a thousand years ago can be explained tommorow, science just needs more time and or evidence. Religious people would say god did it. It's pretty simple why people are religious, it gives them a boost and meaning in life and death. so if us atheist choose not to believe are you saying we are feeling less then you? nope we can have the same feelings deep within without being religious. you see people who aren't religious wouldn't care. It's like pretending to believe in something you don't?
The reasons I'm in my religion because when I die I know that I have a place to go to and I won't be a lost soul.
most ppl r religious because of parents influence. Too few actually studied/read all bible, al-quran, new/old testatment before decide to believe i m atheist btw
God fearing and the acknowledgement that there is a Supreme Being above all else. Therefore, all our actions on this earth should be directed to please GOD!
We are inferior beings that need to seek the favour of our Creator, Father, God to guide us in this journey of self realization during our short existance in this world.
Because I have a awsome respect for life, and because I love people. If you hurt someone, then thousands of people will stand up, and a couple of hundred will not. Rules are only for the ones that can not feel any more. Religion is now going to be our savior.
Of course EVERYONE can believe in whatever they want, and that includes you too lahn doe.But that does not mean that all beliefs are close to the ultimate truth. I am in to religion is because of our molecules, every molecule for that fact appeared from nowhere. Now you don't see it and now you do. Every single thing around us and yourself of course is magic.
