    I don't really like HP... but yeah, thats a personal beef. xD;

    I think for a cheap laptop that's pretty durable just go for a Dell laptop like Dell Inspiron if you aren't looking to spend more than 1200CAD. and XPS M1530 isn't bad either just a tad more expensive. =)

    Well, battery life isn't constant. It will die eventually and you will have to get it replaced. =|

    Dell has a lot better battery power, I find. It can get up to 6 - 9 hours of battery life depending on which one you buy... and you can always buy a back-up battery if you're constantly using it without an outlet.

    if you are going to use the laptop as a desktop you might as well take out the battery and plug it into netpower. that way youll save up recharges on the battery. more blife

    Ehh, never heard of NetPower, how do you work it exactly.. looks like a big silicon chip. xD;

    Lol. Macs and Vaios are ultraportable though. xD; And they look nice. I don't get the hype with Macs though. =| They're overpriced for what they can do.

    I know there are other ultraportables other than MacBook Air and Vaio, I was just focusing on those two based on that guy's comments.

    bang for the buck lenovo/ibm hp and dell's...if your more for form and WOW factor macs are for you

    toshiba's in the past years have lost market and their laptops have began to lose quality also i'd stay away from them

    two ranges which i wont touch actually .... They look fugly in my opinion, i wouldnt personally want to carry a Dell or Acer around. They seem great for value and function wise though i must agree

    only for the home division the latitude's are built very well a lot better than some of the other brands of laptops and they constantly have deals going for them.

    on the other hand sony released their CR series which not too bad and easy on the pocketbook also
