Hey I'm wondering if there if there are any places to get chinese music files in the FLAC audio format? Only able to find MP3's, are there even any chinese music in FLAC floating around the internet? Not sure if this is the right place to ask, mods feel free to delete if its the wrong place.
As far as I know, you can't. The main reason is because FLAC files are large and take a lot of time to move around. Your best bet is to buy the albums and rip them yourself.
Im curious to know too, but I suspect the only way to get the best quality is to rip it yourself. My public library has quite a few chinese albums. Occasionally, I notice people upload good quality 320kbps albums and sometimes very poor quality 128kbps or even 192 that sounds more like 64.
There are quite a few FLAC forums around, the only ones I know are Chinese ones. Since we're not allow to post links to other forums (I think), my tip for you is to type "FLAC" or "FLAC 下载” in baidu or Chinese Google.
320kbps mp3 files are almost as good as flac. Unless you have extremely good amps,(headphones or speakers).
There are also those that re-encode the file, i.e. from lower quality file to a higher quality and vice versa. ^ I lol'ed
what about english music? does anyone know any forums/sites where i can get those? I tried using google, and failed, most places require you to pay lol. PM me a site if you can, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Familiarize yourself with Newsgroup Binaries (see http://www.binaries4all.com/) and use a search engine like Binsearch.
