    Hi there, I'm new here.
I was wondering if you know of any good places to buy contacts online?

    Thank you

  2. why dont you go to an actual store that deal in that kind of stuff, its your eyes were talking about here so there is no point in taking chances, contacts are cheap anyway.

    This .. I can help .. hopefully ..

I used to shop on 1800 contact but they're pretty expensive now. I just ordered my contact lens from AC Lens. Very quick and easy. I recommend that you google the type of lens you want and get a comparable estimates between various online retailers before placing your order. BE AWARE of the return policy and INTERNATIONAL surcharge. For example, if you ordered 2 months supplies and your contacts expired in four months but you're not done with your lens then; you can still return it and get replacements if the boxes aren't open. Example of international surcharge would be credit card. If you ordered from an online retailer like Coastal Contact which normally has a very low price for lens across the board; yet you will be charged for insurance and conversion fee from your credit card since the company is located in Canada; not the US. They don't tell you though so make sure to READ REVIEWS and CALL for questions.

Ok, I was in the same situation as you.
I am not gonna say much. Here is the website.

I usually purchase ACUVUE OASYS, and it has been working well for me. THe company is based in the U.S. I am not sure how much they would charge for international shipping. Nonetheless, the service is great and I received my stuff in a timely manner.

2 years ago I was a bit sketched out buying contact lenses online too. But now, I get my contacts from SaveOnlens and have been getting it from them ever since. Their service, delivery and prices are exceptional. I save so much going to them than to my eye doctor. I found a 5% discount coupon that could be used towards any orders.

Hate to tell you this, 28.95 for a box of Acuvue Oasys is expensive. Dude should try the website I have posted above. It's only around 22.95 for a box of Acuvue Oasys.

those can be dangerous and damage your eyes ( especially the geo lens ) . if i were you i would go to the actual store because you never know what they did with teh contact lens and how they did store them when you order them online

yes , i agree with you buying in the store is expensive . some online stores are licence to sell those . its not really taking chances but more about looking if the website is serious or not and if they are licence ( as reseller ) to sell contact lens online .

Clearlycontacts and coastalcontacts have been good for me. They pricematch, and send you some freebies (e.g., contact lens cases) as well.

absolutely .. you just gotta do the research .. cheap comes at a price of time ..

i think it's best to go with some big online stores that have been around for a long time .. you still save some money comparing to buying outside and your credit card info is safe to some extend... i don't fill or fax them a prescription. i expect them to call my doc for it .. just to make sure they're following the legal guideline sorta speak..

i wouldn't even trust the online shops with a ten foot barge pole

i wear glasses myself and i ain't even gonna try wearing contacts even if i get it from the store coz of the high risk of bacteria and what not.. and have to be extra careful with hygiene as well. it is also annoying to take it in and out too
i would rather save up and risk the laser eye surgery instead

but in all seriousness try the stores, yes it is more expensive but less risks as you cuold get the wrong lens or they are basically fake ones that could get your eyes go blind

wow .. you're kinda go over the top with your response .. lol .. that's not to say it's not possible but we're not stupid to shop recklessly and risk getting blind. we're going high tech these days .. it's good to questions the reliabilities of these online retailers but not trusting at all .. hmm .. not sure if that will do any good.

laser will cause dry eyes and when you're get old, you WILL NEED reading glasses ... there are also other risk involved which will be irreversible.

contact is good .. pay close attention to hygiene of course. common sense when and where to wear it. i used daily disposable contact so at the end of the day, it's thrown out. new one everyday. it's more expensive but like you said, it's your eyes .. worth the money. sight is so important.

i know i went OTT with my response but with such personal things i would not want to buy anything from online like that, yes there is trust issues even with the well known and good serviced companies but there can always been a problem, whereas at shops if there is something you can always go back and find that person to solve the problem out, whereas online say if you like to complain you have to send an email wait for a day or 2 for replies and to return by paying postage etc.

yes laser eye surgerys can cause dry eyes and will eventually need reading glasses however the cost of the laser eye surgery may mount up cheaper than buying comnthly prescription of contacts & there is a limit to wear contacts which i believe is 10 years but i don't know whether that is true or not. + reading glasses costs £1 and you do not always need to wear them at all times

im not saying dont wear contacts but imo i would go into the shops and stop being lazy by doing everything the high-tech way and walk into a shop to get it done.

I guess you have not shopped online for contact lens before but again, you gotta do your research. Each country has different type of organizational membership and physical office and warehouse; at least the ones I have bought from. I never had a problem with my order thanks to detailed research I have done prior to the purchase. If there is a problem, most get resolved within 24-hour and it doesn't, I will get my lens else where and contact the membership organization for reimbursement. That's that.

Regarding the laser treatment .. it does make sense that the cost of laser is far less than contact lens in the long run .. I knew that but I certainly DO NOT want to wear reading glasses when I get old. It's a matter of choice. I also forgot to tell you that it can cause early cataract development and possibly glaucoma ... various from one person to another. Overall, it's not the cost that holding me back, it's the irreversible medical probs and risks.

I ordered online not because I am LAZY. If you read my earlier post, my optometrist also ordered my contact lens online. I save about 50% by ordering online than getting them at the doc. Everything is online nowadays regardless of your purchase. Companies go high tech everyday because it's the most cost effective and efficient way of doing business these days. Also, going back to the doc also requires a waiting time cuz s/he needs to contact the seller/manufacturer for the replacement .. usually longer. Online retailer can ship replacement immediately from the warehouse 24/7. It's cheap, fast, and convenience.
