    wow thats weird.
maybe its the good relations between the 2 countries that caused this...

if it was Japan that had the good relations with Vietnam, Vietnam would probably have a Japan Language Day too. lol

....or am i missing something here and the Russian lang. really is that great? :ugh2:

  5. thanks for the source.

  6. could it have anything to do with the communism link, and Ho Chi Minh being so into socialism?

well i think the ties to russia are so close, because of the same ideology and the dislike against china, because of the historical events. else nowadays china would be the tightest partner of vietnam. well many southvietnamese people fled to the US or frenchspeaking countries like canada or france. but u also forgot to mention germany. with the former german democratic republic, vietnam alwasy had close bonds and nowadays there are loads of vietnamese people living in germany and many vietnamese students study abroad in germany

uhm, i don't think so. Nowadays, what Vietnamese love to learn first is Jap, the sec is Korean and next is Chinese.
I don;t think there're a lot of Vietnamese wanna learn Russian.

Just old people and some of youth know Russian. English is no 1 now,Vietnamese pupils study English when 6 years old, the second is French, and Chinese, Japanese, Korean. I just know English and a very tiny little Japanese.
